Company Director - General
A company or organization's director position, as with a director of a major motion picture, is responsible, for the overall direction of a company, institution, or any organization requiring guidance in the day to day operations.
These individuals direct the overall scope of a business or organizational and are the key person responsible for the reputation, success or failure, of the specific entity. They must maintain an enterprise-wide understanding, maintaining familiarity with virtually every aspect of the entity and direct it in almost every way.
Director positions carry with them large amounts of responsibility and overall good business ethics, wisdom and knowledge of the particular field of expertise for the sector is a must. You will normally find these positions held by older, more experienced individuals with lots of years of practical wisdom and operational dos and don'ts.
Some of the focused responsibilities of directors are as follows:
- Establishing company short and long term objectives and goals.
- Responsibility for public perception of a company with the ultimate accountability being the success or demise of the company or organization.
- Manages administrative, technical and financial aspects of a company or organization.
- Assess and make determinations on the various company or organizations departments in order to streamline and improve operating dynamics.
- Directors may be responsible for some human resource related duties such as hiring and firing of key employees.
